How long after Botox can you lie down?

After your treatment, you will now have to face the golden rule: Do not lie down too early. Is it really that important? What happens if you do? And when is it really safe to let our guard down?
If you want to know how long to stay upright after Botox and why this step is so important for optimal results, this guide will discuss it all down so you can sit back and simply enjoy the best results without worry.
Doctors advise patients to avoid lying down for four hours after receiving Botox injections. This is a precautionary measure that helps keep the neurotoxin to stay in the intended facial muscles.
If you lie down too quickly, it increases the chances of seeing asymmetrical outcomes, or temporary droop or bruising. Remaining vertical at this time allows the Botox to properly settle and work its magic for the best aesthetic outcome.
It is an advised precaution by doctors. Once the botulinum toxin settles after the injection, it starts working within a few hours by anchoring itself to nerve endings. To maximize the effects, always seek a qualified expert, such as a board-certified plastic surgeon or dermatologist from Harley Street Skin Clinic, who can inject the Botox properly and reduce the chance of migration.
Lying down right after the treatment is not recommended, but the risk of Botox migrating is very low. How Botox works is by blocking a chemical called acetylcholine, which helps muscles contract.
